I’m laughing at myself right now. I just went to take a look at some of my earliest blog posts and found the first one after I’d started playing World of Warcraft. Feel free to take a look. My favorite part?

I played all the way through Diablo 2 twice, and started at least five other characters. I cannot possibly do the same online - this game is just too big for that!

Hahaha. I think I’ve started something like 20 characters. Admittedly, only a few have made it anywhere near the endgame. But how naive I was, oh poor innocent Tara of yesteryear.

That’s hilarious! Of course, I thought the same. But then, before WoW, my idea of “investing some serious time in a game” was anything > 50 hours, and generally reserved for Final Fantasy . I’m currently taking a WoW hiatus after discovering the sum of /played on *just* my non-deleted characters is over 110 days. Admittedly, I spent a large portion of that using it as a glorified IM client while doing other things, but still… WoW changes perspectives. And, as your original point pointed out, is way too addictive.

BTW, my priest can make any shirt pattern. Yay online sewing!

I’m too scared to check my /played. I don’t want to know. Fortunately, my kids are still being clothed and fed…
