I’ve been thinking about and talking about the WoW expansion pack for a long time now. Over a year, in fact! The idea of new races has really had me excited. And now it’s practically here. Midnight tomorrow, some folks will have the Burning Crusade in their hands. They’ll be able to play in the wee hours of the night. I will not be one of those people, however. I pre-ordered my Collector’s edition online, and I’ll be waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Plus, I have work and stuff, so it’s probably best if I’m not up all night playing.
But it’s here, it’s here, it’s here! I can’t help but be a little giddy. I don’t know whether I’ll try to log on Tuesday at all, I’m sure it’ll be a zoo, packed with people everywhere. But maybe I’ll just try to see what I can see (without the expansion installed myself, of course). I expect most of what I see will be more of the long queues we’ve been experiencing for the last few weeks. Oh well. I’m sure it’ll get cleared up soon. And then we can all play our new Blood Elf Paladins together. That’ll be funny.
One Response to “The Crusade will soon commence”
Dumata, Nordoka and I logged on last night. Turned out the experience was relatively trouble free: installed the discs, ran a quick patch (for some reason the discs overwrote a recent client patch, which has to be reapplied), and then logged in. No queue, server was working fine.
We ran through the portal and did a couple quests even. Lag was bad on the other side, but that’s probably because the zone was jammed. Some people in chat were saying that the further west (away from the Portal) you went in Outlands the better it got.
Anyway, kudos to Blizzard for actually making things work.
