I keep reading people complaining about the problem with World of Warcraft Battlegrounds (click here to see a post on Heartless Gamer about how to fix the problems, which sort of explains them too). They’re complaining about “Honor Farmers” and unstoppable teams of people that have perfected their tactics and cannot be beaten. For a basic description on what the battlegrounds are, try my previous post. Well maybe my server is different, but I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with the Battlegrounds. My first foray was into Arathi Basin with a high level 30s Night Elf Hunter. I played three times in a row with essentially the same pickup group of people. We lost every time but had a blast doing it, and every time we made some headway and it got close, we all were excited and talking and just looking forward to some success.

I played Arathi a few more times (and managed to win once even) until I hit level 40 at which point I decided to wait to grab a few more levels so I wouldn’t get slaughtered now that I was at the bottom of the level bracket.

Civ4 was in stock and I picked up my copy at EB today. Unfortunately, I also discovered that Soul Calibur III was out and I picked up one of those too. When am I ever going to have time to sleep? More to follow…

Not here yet, that’s where! For all you folks waiting for my review (there will be a review), it’s delayed until after I actually get the game. Of course, I could just make something up based on the screenshots and reviews I’ve read. Haha.

Anyway, here’s hoping it comes in today and then I’ll be able to play some tonight and post my impressions soon. Also on deck, I picked up a copy of Age of Empires III and played it a bit. But I don’t want to talk about it too much until I actually give it a real chance. I will say this - the game was not ready to go out the door. The first multiplayer game we played went out of synch.

I’ve got too many games to play and there just aren’t enough hours in the day. A friend recently gave me a copy of Psychonauts which I started today. It’s awesome. I was laughing out loud. It’s an actually funny game with wit and cleverness and here’s hoping that I’m not being over-enthusiastic about a game I’ve only played for 45 minutes, and that it actually maintains the level of goodness it began with. It’s an adventure game created in part by Tim Schafer, who was involved with some classic LucasArts titles like Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango.

Also, I finally got my mount in World of Warcraft. So you’d think I’d be so excited and riding around so swiftly on my new mount. Except that I have another character that I play with a group of friends once and week and I’m several levels behind where I’m supposed to be for this week’s session! Oh no! So I was forced to play my Tauren Druid today instead of enjoying the incredible speed of my new Striped Nightsaber.

Tomorrow will throw an even worse wrench in the works when I pick up my pre-ordered copy of Civilization 4. I thought I had no time before. Now it will only get worse! What am I to do?

Serenity is almost gone from the theaters. The movie hasn’t done quite as well as a lot of us fans had hoped. But it’s a thoroughly enjoyable movie. Really! I had a friend go who had never seen the show and he still loved it. Serenity looks like it may vanish and become just another forgotten blip on the busy radar of movies that were. I don’t want that for this movie! The cast is great, the fun is just beginning, and I’m hoping for many sequels to follow. So listen up out there in cyberland, go see this movie. I promise, you won’t regret it! And if you do regret it, then you should learn to just let go of things. It’s less than two hours of your life!
