Who I am, and why should you care? Well, my name is right there in the address bar. Hi, I’m Tara. I’m a computer programmer, and I’ve been working in the computer game industry since 2000. I’ve shipped some large number of titles in that time. Along the way, I’ve gathered a lot of knowledge of what it takes to make a game, what it takes to get a game contract, and what the industry is like as a whole. So some of that might be here on this site.
As well, I’m a woman in the game industry – the fact of which was part of what caused me to start this blog in the first place. My role in the workplace is never defined by my gender. But my perspective on issues and my interests are focused through a different lens, so perhaps people might find what I have to say interesting.
Mostly, I blog about whatever grabs me. These days that’s games, movies, books, and gadgets, though I’ve been known to throw in the random tidbit about something silly in my day as well. I have no agenda. I’m not here to do anything except talk. So I hope people find what I’m rambling about of interest. But if not, maybe someone else out there might be more interesting to you. Enjoy.
If you’d like to email me, try me here: tarablogger at gmail dot com. I trust you can figure out how to assemble that into an actual address. Come on, you can do it!
